A Staff Accountant is responsible for performing various routine accounting tasks, while maintaining financial procedures

Job Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain property leases, prepare monthly journal entry under ASC842 accounting method and reconcile related accounts
  • Prepare monthly work in process entry and reconcile related accounts
  • Review and reconcile the fixed assets registry, prepare monthly journal entry
  • Review, code and record credit card transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of annual 1099s and the collection of W-9s
  • Maintain accounting accuracy and reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare various monthly journal and statistical entries
  • Assist with the processing of expense reports and other financial statements
  • Assist with various ad-hoc accounting projects and support other tasks as needed

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, ability to:
    • Use macros, advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.
    • Create dashboards, analytical spreadsheets, rules to improve/translate coding, etc.
    • Transform large amounts of data into journal/statistical entries, summaries, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Oracle NetSuite or any similar cloud-based accounting software
  • Intermediate knowledge of CCC One or similar estimating/billing software
  • Basic knowledge of Lease Crunch or similar lease accounting software
  • Professional attitude and a team player
  • Trustworthy, high degree of integrity
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise, self-starter
  • Ability to work effectively, independently, and adhere to deadlines in a remote setting
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail focused
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication skills within the organization & in vendor relations
