The specific pay rate/salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a number of factors including experience, education, specialized certifications from OEMs, and where the job is located.  The company reserves the right to adjust offers within the range at its discretion.

The Disassembly Technician is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, documenting, and assessing vehicles for hidden damage to support accurate repair planning and efficient production.

Job Requirements

  • Follow the company blueprinting process and disassembly procedures (DFR) for all vehicle inspections.
  • Disassemble vehicles after the initial estimate and inspect for structural and hidden damage.
  • Complete full vehicle disassembly to support a 100% repair plan.
  • Document all additional damage, required parts, blend panels, moldings, clips, and one-time-use fasteners.
  • Communicate supplemental damage and parts needed to the Production Manager/Estimator.
  • Assist with vehicle reassembly as needed.
  • Perform light non-structural repairs including sanding, finishing, and minor bumper repairs.
  • Reinstall moldings, trims, and finishing components.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety procedures.
  • Occasionally move or operate customer or company vehicles within the shop or on company premises (e.g., pulling vehicles in/out of stalls, repositioning for repair stages) as needed to support collision repair operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum 1 year body repair experience.
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) are required.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Auto Body Vo-Tech certification preferred.
  • I-CAR and OEM training preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read repair orders, estimates, and work instructions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and pull
  • Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairs
  • Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs)
  • Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
  • Standing, sitting, and walking
  • Performing repetitive motions
