The Senior ADAS Calibration Technician is a highly skilled technical expert responsible for advanced diagnostics, calibration, and repair of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). In addition to performing calibrations, this senior-level role includes responsibilities such as leading and mentoring junior technicians, supporting remote diagnostics, and occasionally serving as acting lead or backup for the ADAS Manager during periods of absence. This technician ensures all ADAS repairs meet or exceed OEM and safety standards and provides expert-level service to both internal teams and customers.

Job Requirements

Calibration & System Integration

  • Perform complex calibrations and adjustments of sensors, cameras, lidar, radar, and ultrasonic systems for features like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking.
  • Ensure accurate integration of ADAS components with vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive functional and safety tests after calibration.

Advanced Diagnostics & Software

  • Lead in-depth diagnostics and troubleshooting using OEM-specific tools and advanced diagnostic platforms.
  • Perform software updates and patches to maintain current system performance.
  • Provide remote diagnostic support and consultation to field technicians.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Train, mentor, and guide junior and mid-level ADAS technicians; share best practices and technical knowledge.
  • Perform quality control reviews on work completed by others to ensure compliance with safety and OEM standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and point of contact for escalated technical issues.

Operational & Customer Service Excellence

  • Support shop coordination efforts by managing workflows, prioritizing work orders, and reporting operational issues.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, communicating clearly with internal stakeholders and clients about complex ADAS issues and resolutions.
  • Act as a backup to the ADAS Manager, handling day-to-day operational oversight during absences or high-volume periods.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of direct ADAS calibration experience or equivalent high-level automotive diagnostic background.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, sensor alignment, and calibration theory.
  • Proficient in OEM and aftermarket ADAS diagnostic tools, software, and calibration equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring other technicians preferred.
  • Ability to interpret OEM procedures and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency; CCC One experience preferred.
  • Must be 18 or older with a clean driving record and pass all pre-employment screenings.

Other Requirements

  • Travel between multiple shop and customer locations (company vehicle provided).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments (bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods).
  • Manual dexterity to operate diagnostic and calibration equipment effectively.
